About me

I am the Founder of the Canadian Fashion Scholars Network and the Co-Founder of the Urban Chic book series published by Intellect Press. Montréal Chic: A Locational History of Montreal Fashion (2016) is available from Intellect and Chicago University Press.
Currently, I teach in History and Germanic and Slavic Studies at the University of Victoria. I also consult academics, professionals, writers, curators, and project managers on research, publishing, web design, digital media, communication and organizational strategies.
Every year, I organize the annual Canadian Fashion Scholars Symposium at different museum across Canada. The goal of the Symposium and the Network is to further Fashion Studies in Canada and to facilitate interdisciplinary and inter-medial collaboration and cooperation in the fields of fashion and culture.
