Bio

Katrina Sark, PhD, is the founder of the Canadian Fashion Scholars Network and the co-founder of the Urban Chic book series published by Intellect. Her publications include Montréal Chic: A Locational History of Montreal Fashion (2016), Berliner Chic: A Locational History of Berlin Fashion (2011), and World Film Locations: Berlin (2012). Her doctoral dissertation, entitled "Branding Berlin" (2014), is a cultural analysis study of the urban, economic, and cultural transformation in post-Wall Berlin. Her photographs have been published in "Imaginations: Journal of Cross-Cultural Studies" (2014), "Inquire, Journal of Comparative Literature" (2012), and "Canadian Review of Comparative Literature" (2010-2014), as well as in a number of books and online publications. Her research on cities, gender, culture, media and fashion can be found on her blog.
